Lowcountry Oyster Company offers farm tours that give you a look into the science and sustainability of an oyster’s life cycle. The 2.5-hour tour takes you through the start to finish of what it looks like to grow and ship oysters from their farm and factory right outside of Charleston, SC. To offer fresh, briny oysters all year round, Lowcountry Oyster Company uses sustainable cage farming techniques to grow oyster babies in their nursery and help them cultivate into adulthood. These oysters grow up to be the famous single selects known as Lowcountry Cups, an oyster unique to LowCo! By land and by boat, you’ll get to see, smell, touch, and taste one of the culinary backbones of the Lowcountry. Your guide will also teach you how to shuck an oyster, and you will be able to reap the benefits of your new skills. Conclude the adventure with an oyster tasting where you will be able to try our Lowcountry Cups with a variety of different sauces and preparations.
